A mediation is a conference between separated couples conducted by an accredited mediator who is impartial and qualified to assist you with resolving any remaining dispute as to how to divide your property including superannuation. We can arrange a mediation on your behalf if both parties agree to attend. Let us know if you think we can assist in this way. We will then prepare the agreement reached in a binding and final form.
The Court charges you a filing fee to lodge your paperwork to divide your superannuation. This is a necessary step and the fee is $195. The Superannuation fund may charge a small fee to process the division (splitting) of the superannuation BUT this is usually taken out of the existing superannuation balance.
We are happy to discuss payment by instalments of the costs to obtain Your Superannuation Split. We are Australian solicitors who must hold money received in our trust account. Our firm’s roots go back more than 30 years in our local Australian community.
